When will the new patch be applied... ??
The game is pretty much unplayable, - Game refusing commands way too often - Impossible to move has a group - Monster fleeing for nothing ....

When will the new patch be applied... ?? The game is pretty much unplayable, - Game refusing commands way too often - Impossible to move has a group - Monster fleeing for nothing .... patch will come but no official date, Reborn is the priority classic was just to give yall somethign to do, as for the delay issue, 8 commands in udner 5 seconds, is there a reason so frequent? keep in mind monsters attack every 15 seconds, i scripted all night and only hit the message one time in 8 hours of scripting. i run a .3 delay in between attacks, and run all 6 attacks in under 1 second. i then delay .5 and share the dropped gold i then delay .2 and send ep and grab my exp i then delay .1 and compare my current exp to what i need i then delay .1 and if i need to go back to town it walks back to town else it walks to the next room and searches for targets. this script does alot of configuring as it reads in the map and walks each direction on the map it kills anything in red in the rooms it encounters, and checks carried gold for deposit, exp for a level gain, mana andh ealth for a wait delay then walks where it needs to go and i never hang up. it is possible you just need to slightly delay your commands. monster attacks 15 secons later monster attacks again if i got to stop reborn development to hunt for the problems i got no problem doing that but it is gonna set back the release, the whle point of classic was to build a simple engine that could power reborn, most the issues are minor as most people are scriptng arenas where monsters do not run away i typically patch once a week, which is a pretty good record ocnsidering but games like WOW or EQ patch like once a month and sometimes once every 3 months. i write down all the issues and go and fix them and weekly send an updated DLL, or else i will fix this, update the game, something else is wrong, go fix that, and next thing ya know im spending all day updating.

- The limit on commands input is a show stopper for me, it makes the game unusable. If other users want to cope with that its their problem. - I was already frustrated about the trip and fall rate that is way to high according to me, now I can not even get to the trip and fall because of the max command input... - Those elements alone make original TA a lot more fun then "classic" for now. (IMO: TA is a fast action real time game where half a second is enough to make the difference between life and death, so having to wait 5 seconds to talk, drink a potion, do anything... Is completely breaking the game... again IMO) - The last patch broke group follow and made monster run... So its nearly impossible to wander around, make green rune, do any practical stuff... So until those are fixed its a PITA to even think about leaving town/arena... On your other notes, my 2 cents: Now, maybe i'm wrong, but thinking about releasing Rebord now is not a great idea, as the base engine is not working correctly. I would think the correct order to do things would be to make the basic work correctly asap so then you can work on extended features... But hey, i'm just a user so its easy to say...

But hey, i'm just a user so its easy to say... i have not worked on the reborn code itself in over a week, i have been working on my demo & support system to get it online so sysops can test modules and download demos and other ported addons so i can keep worldgroup from dying completely. the errors yeah they do suck but we are alot further along in having the game available than we were last week, and closer then than we were 2 weeks ago, and besides Classic is just a "port" of the original code with some changes to make it work with my own database type, while reborn is a complete rewrite using my own methods, so if Classic has somethign in it it is directly from the original code, now the funny thing is the code that reduces timers i puleld directly from my previous version which worked fine, so somethign else is going on here, i entered the game last night teleported to room 3000 which is in the deep forest and made a macro to "summon 100" then run a round of attacks, show my ep show my gold show my stats show my health and summon again, when one of em died i shared the gold and continued doing this for an hour and never hit the error, so something else is causing it to happen and my guess is it has to do with the group follow, since that "stops" working sometimes and when i did it i was solo not in a group, which is something i plan on tackling as soon as my demo system goes online within the next day or so. now i know it sucks to be "broken" and "unplayable" but let's face it who else is working on making this game available? i do this for free, i do not charge anyone to play it, hell i do not even play it anymore, i have not played this game since i used to run a necro,aco,and rogue in 2004. i completely do this for the love of this game and for the continuity that it will live on, and yes we will encounter bugs some of em major some of em minor some of em just a plain out pain in the ass, but ....... i will fix them and this game will move on and we will have a replication of the original as well as a new engine with the reborn core and people will be happy, but let's face it when it comes to game development there wil always be issues, look at WOW 14mil subscribers, most patches suck, most patches break something, but people know in the end it will all balance out. The good news for us is classic TA is simple in design and gameplay mechanics so fixing things takes no time at all, and once my demo system goeso nline i can probably have this game fixed in a few hours. right now i am finalizing the global control release to put n my demo system, then i am compiling a fresh binary of my newuser email verification system, and installing my SMTP client patch and going online. Then i got to port a module for a sysop that paid me like 3 weeks ago then am gonna go through the classic codebase. all in all by the weekends end is my plan, so we just gotta deal til then and all will be well. for debugging sake, try running a solo character not in a group and see if you get the problem.

Bug by bug until perfect :-D zelion, Dan sent me a patch, it's in place and it disables the "You must rest" behavior for now. The point of it is probably to prevent any single person to flood the BBS and create some "denial of service" issue by sending commands like mad. It sure is important though and will need to put back once fixed. Thanks Dan, you're efforts are really appreciated,

I am probably way too addicted to TA that I want it to be perfect First 5 minutes impression with the new patch, is that it works !!! Now the other major issue is "group follow" that is still buggy and preventing any group excursions... Keep up the good work...

Keep up the good work... yeah i found a small issue causing the too fast messages, fixed that quickly, is it possible the group follow was part of it let me know how it goes.

- Might not be related, but each time I change direction the group follow seems to break.

Group follow is still bugged - First room of the sewer under 2nd town seems a spot where it always happen - Might not be related, but each time I change direction the group follow seems to break. i been wanting to rewrite this function for a while, as soon as i compile the new global actions module gonna sleep a few and when i wake up ill rewrite it and test it with a couple accounts.
